Welcome to CANUSA Weekend

On behalf of myself, the Crim Fitness Foundation, the Greater Flint Olympian & CANUSA Games, and our entire city, we are honored to welcome our friends from Hamilton, Ontario, to Flint, Michigan. The CANUSA Games have united our communities through friendly competition since 1958, fostering lasting friendships and a shared commitment to promoting international goodwill.

As we gather once again, we proudly continue the tradition of living our motto: “Experience the Friendship.”

Over nearly seven decades, both Flint and Hamilton have evolved, and so have the CANUSA Games. Yet year after year, one thing remains constant: our shared commitment to bringing people together through sport, friendship, and community.

This weekend, some athletes will arrive as strangers and leave with lifelong friendships. Parents will reconnect with friends they first met through CANUSA years, even decades ago, sharing memories while a new generation creates their own. Across more than a dozen venues throughout our community, hundreds of young athletes will compete, challenge themselves, and experience something much bigger than winning or losing.

That is the enduring impact of the CANUSA Games. They remind us that sport has the power to build relationships, bridge borders, and create a sense of belonging that lasts far beyond a single weekend. None of this would be possible without the dedication of our volunteers, coaches, officials, host families, sponsors, and community partners who make this tradition possible year after year.

Your countless hours of planning, leadership, and dedication make this incredible weekend possible. Your commitment provides opportunities for young athletes to compete, grow, and create memories that will last a lifetime. We are grateful for everything you do to carry this tradition forward for future generations.

We also want to thank our sponsors, community partners, donors, and supporters. Your generosity and belief in the mission of the CANUSA Games allow this remarkable tradition to continue year after year. Thank you for investing in our youth and in the friendship between our two cities.

Most importantly, thank you to our athletes and their families. Whether you are competing, cheering from the sidelines, hosting a billet, volunteering, or simply enjoying the weekend together, you are the heart of the CANUSA Games. It is your sportsmanship, enthusiasm, and friendships that make this event truly special.

As you compete throughout the weekend, we encourage you to give your best effort, support one another, meet new friends, and create memories that will last a lifetime. Most of all, enjoy every moment and continue to Experience the Friendship.

Thank you for being part of the 68th Annual CANUSA Games. We are honored to celebrate this tradition with you and wish everyone a safe, successful, and unforgettable weekend.

Welcome to Flint, and welcome to CANUSA!
