The Crim Can Accept These Assets

The Crim can accept Qualified Charitable Distributions from IRAs of up to $100,000 a year if you are older than 70 1/2 years old and you won't pay income tax on the funds/transaction.

Leave a Legacy Gift

Joining the Gerald S. Myers Legacy Society is not only a great way to honor our long-time CEO but it also provides financial security for the Crim over time. Planned gifts are a great way to leave your own legacy with the Crim and to honor the impact Crim has had on you or a family member.

Legal Language for Legacy Gifts
"I give and devise to the Crim Fitness Foundation, Flint, Michigan that sum of $ (or state percentage of identified assets available for distribution) to be held, administered and used by the Board of Directors for support of the Crim Fitness Foundation in the area of greatest need (or designated to a specific program, endowment) at the Crim. I instruct that all of my charitable gifts shall be made, to the extent possible, from property that constitutes "income in respect of a decedent" as that term is defined in the Internal Revenue Code."

The Crim Fitness Foundation works to cultivate accessible, vibrant communities in Flint and Genesee County that encourage healthy habits for the body and mind. Over the last fifteen years, the Crim's programs and partnerships have grown to provide the best in health, fitness, education, and mindfulness.

Your support helps us continue to provide, not only a world-class Festival of Races and one of the country's largest Adult Training Programs, but also programs like:

  • The Flint Community Education Initiative which provides more than 4,000 families with education and basic-needs resources
  • The Flint Mindful Cities Initiative, which provides nearly ten thousand residents with meditation, yoga, and gratitude practices each year
  • Community-wide sports and nutrition programming for more than 18,000 youth
  • Health advocacy, capacity-building training, and dollars for built environment change like new bike lanes, sidewalks, parks, and playgrounds
