Q: Will I be able to sign up on race day?

A: Absolutely not! We have hit our race cap and registration is officially closed. ***Spectators must be pre-registered by Monday, November 4 in order to undergo a TSA security check.***


Q: Can I transfer my registration to someone else?

A: No. Unfortunately, due to the security procedures set by Bishop Airport and TSA, we are not able to transfer bibs for the event.


Q: Can someone drop me off at the entrance off of Torrey Road?

A: Everyone attending 5K on the Runway MUST enter via a vehicle through the security check. Any racer or participant attempting to enter on foot will not be allowed in, NO EXCEPTIONS.


Q: Can I bring food, water, extra clothes, or other race gear in my vehicle?

A: Yes! However, no bags of any kind are allowed in the spectator area or on the course. Don't worry, the parking area is very close to the start/finish line. Click here for the map


Q: Will I be able to access the race through the main airport parking lot and terminal?

A: No! The race will take place at the very south end of the airport, which can only be accessed through the “Golf Tees” entrance on Torrey Road, between Hill and Maple.


Q: Will the runway be closed during the race?

A: The race course goes on the North/South runway, which will be closed. However, the more commonly used East/West runway will be open and you may get to see a plane take off or land during the race.


Q: What will I get with my registration?

A: All registered racers will receive the official 5K on the Runway hat. When you finish your race, you will receive “your wings” courtesy of United Airlines and Delta along with other goodies from our partners and sponsors.


Q: Will there be a water station along the course?

A: No. Unfortunately, due to runway restrictions there will not be a water station available on the course. There will be plenty of water available before and after the race. If you need water during your race, please plan to bring your own hydration belt or handheld water bottle (no disposable bottles or cups allowed on the course).


Q: Can spectators watch racers on the course?

A: No. All spectators must remain in the official spectator area (right by the start/finish line) AT ALL TIMES. Thanks to our partners and sponsors, there will be plenty to do in the spectator area all morning long. Check the Airport Access Guide and Course Map for more info.


Q: Are strollers allowed?

A: Yes, BUT please be aware of and plan to follow all of these guidelines:

  • All children/infants must be pre-registered as spectators (click here to register)
  • ABSOLUTELY no backpacks, diaper bags, etc. allowed in spectator area or on the course (those items must remain in your vehicle)
  • All strollers will be searched
  • There will be no changing tables, warming areas, or other infant accommodations
  • Racers with strollers must start in the back of their respective start (run or walk)


Q: Are pets allowed in the race or spectator area?

A: No! No pets of any kind will be allowed into the airport.


Q: What is the weather policy for this event?

A: The race will happen rain/snow or shine! In the event of lightning, or other threatening weather, all racers and spectators will seek shelter in the vehicle in which they arrive.
