Event Details

We’re so excited to see you on Saturday, September 30th for the 2017 HAP Tour de Crim! Here are some important event details you’ll need to know to make your ride as fun and safe as possible!

All Riders Start at 12pm

Due to scheduled road closures all participants MUST start at 12pm. Later comers will not be eligible to join the ride after 12pm.  Please be sure to plan your morning so that you arrive early and are ready at the start line by 11:45am. If you’re planning to donate a bike, arrive 10-15 minutes before the 12pm start.

Road Closures

Please be sure to plan your morning so that you arrive early and are ready at the start line by 11:45am.

HAP Tour de Crim is a non-competitive bicycle challenge that follows the famous Crim 10 Mile course. HAP Tour de Crim will have a partially closed course. Participants must follow the designated course at all times & must follow all traffic laws. Local law enforcement and officials will assist with traffic. Riders must follow behind the lead vehicle, which will NOT exceed an average of 15mph. Riders who pass the lead vehicle will not be under the protection of traffic officials and will be riding at their own risk and will need to obey all traffic laws.

All Tour participants are welcome to park at Atwood Stadium! Please enter from Water St. via Grand Traverse

Support Along the Course

  • SAG (Support and Gear) vehicles will be roving along the course if your bike breaks down or if you need non-medical assistance. The phone number will be on your bib.
  • If you see someone experiencing a medical emergency along the ride, call 911 to ensure the fastest response.

Questions? Visit the HAP Tour de Crim FAQ page or contact Cassie Sadler, at (810) 235-3396 or csadler@crim.org.

See you at the start line on Saturday, September 30th for the 2017 HAP Tour de Crim!

NEW FOR 2017

This is probably obvious to you by now, but yes! We listened to your feedback and moved the HAP Tour de Crim to the Fall! We hope the new late September date (September 30th to be exact) will bring better weather, more participation, and an overall better ride for everyone!

The HAP Tour de Crim will start an hour later at 12pm!

The course will still be along the Crim’s famous Blue Line, but it will be slightly altered. The start line will be on Stone St at 1st Ave. We are pleased to announce that the post-ride festival will take place at Flint’s own craft brewpub, Tenacity Brewing! There will be fun activities, bread provided by CRUST, and beverages, plus the added bonus of being close to the Flint River Trail AND the Genesee Valley Trail, should you choose to extend your ride!

All HAP Tour de Crim Participants are welcome to park right next to the start line in the Atwood Stadium parking lot. Please enter the lot from Water St via Grand Traverse.

After your ride, and after your beverage and bread at Tenacity, we encourage all Tour participants, as well as their family and friends to check out Better Block Grand Traverse. Better Block Grand Traverse is part street festival, part visioning session, part demonstration. The Crim Fitness Foundation, Safe & Active Genesee for Everyone, Kettering University, and University Avenue Corridor Coalition have come together to create this event, where 4 blocks of Grand Traverse Street (Kearsley to University) will be transformed from car-centric and full of speeding traffic to the two narrow lanes, middle turning lane, street bike lanes and on street parking that neighborhoods demanded by Flint’s citizens during the creation of Flint’s award winning “Imagine Flint” master plan. We want to show the people of Flint that we can have an equitable transportation system in our city using the base infrastructure that we’ve already built. This means streets that are safe and welcoming for pedestrians, cyclists, and transit users, not just car owners. To underline this vision of shared use, we’ve positioned the festival to take place right in the middle of the 2017 HAP Tour De Crim. Cyclists and spectators will be able to enjoy Better Block Grand Traverse as an extension of the ride itself. After the ride is over, cyclists will be encouraged to use their bike to ride up and down Grand Traverse, safely sharing the street with other traffic types and demonstrating the benefits of a true “complete street.”

Prizes will be awarded for Best Decorated Bike, Best Costume, and Best Costumed Team! Enter contests at11:30am near the start line
