MarjMarjory Raymer serves as the senior adviser for media relations and communications at the University of Michigan-Flint. She worked for 20 years in media, starting her career as a political reporter. In 2009, she became the youngest person and first woman to lead The Flint Journal newsroom, serving as editor until 2014. She then served as director of news for MLive Media Group, leading the editorial team for the state’s most-read media website and overseeing 10 newsrooms statewide.

She started running in 2013 — 30 seconds at a time, 30 seconds that changed her life. She ran the Crim Festival of Races’ Michigan Mile that year, marking the third time in her life she ran a mile. The next year, she joined a training program and ran the 10-mile Crim and in 2015 joined the Crim Board of Directors. Marjory is married to Eric Wisniewski and they have two children, Javon and Evelina, who attend St. John Vianney in Flint. Marjory also serves on the Priority Children board of directors and helps operate the Blueberry Ambassador random-acts-of-kindness program.
