Jonique is returning to the work that she loves after five and a half years as a Senior Program Associate with the David P. Weikart Center for Youth Program Quality. Prior to that, Jonique was responsible for the implementation and supervision of 21st CCLC programs for both elementary and middle school programs and she worked for the Office of Community Education, Recreation and Athletics in the Flint School District. Jonique grew up in Community Education; she has fond memories of participating in after school and late evening activities at Bunche Elementary School until her mom was off work. She remembers her maternal grandparents organizing an adult walking club at Brownell Elementary School. Schools were the hub of the community! Her desire is to cultivate strong partnerships that provides high quality academic and social enrichment activities, inspires lifelong love of learning, fosters civic duty and integrates mindfulness into daily practice for youth, families and community.
