Jessica Robinson is a Flint native and grew up in the Civic Park neighborhood. She attended Flint Community Schools 1st- 10th grade. She received her bachelor's degree in Health Fitness in Preventive and Rehabilitative Programs at Central Michigan University.
She also holds a master’s degree in Physical Education and Sport with a concentration in Exercise/Health Sciences. Prior to joining the Crim, she was a faculty member at Central Michigan in the Exercise and Health Sciences Department. She began her journey as a Crim Nutrition Coordinator then became Program Manager and served as the lead on Community Outreach and Engagement through SNAP-Ed’s Policy System and Environmental Change Initiative. Jessica is part of the Leadership NOW 2017 cohort and became a part of the Community Education Initiative as Community School Director in January 2017.
Jessica serves her community by volunteering and connecting partners with local organizations. Throughout her career, she does what she can to help those in need and to help young people progress. The Community Schools/Education model is extremely vital to the success of our students, families, and neighborhoods. She truly believes the Community School Directors of the past, paved the way for the work that is currently happening. Jessica hopes to inspire students to serve the Flint community, just like others have done for her. She loves running road races with her Crim Adult Training Program group. She also enjoys preparing new recipes with and for her family!
