The Crim Fitness Foundation supports a Community School Corps comprised of AmeriCorps State and VISTA members who provide during/after-school and summer learning activities for K-12 grade students and build capacity for community education in all Flint Community schools. Flint Community School Corps members serve in schools to deliver educational programming; create systems to connect the school administration, parents, social service supports and community members in ways that improve academic outcomes; and recruit and manage a core pool of parent and community volunteers. Currently in its third year of programming, the FCSC has 4 member slots in each of the 11 Flint Community Schools, including Community Resource Developer VISTA, Family Engagement VISTA, Education Coordinator, and Physical Activity Coordinator.

The Community Schools/Education model is extremely vital to the success of our students, families, and neighborhoods. She truly believes the Community School Directors of the past, paved the way for the work that is currently happening. Jessica hopes to inspire students to serve the Flint community, just like others have done for her. She loves running road races with her Crim Adult Training Program group.
