Tom Hauer – Program Manager
Tom came to the Crim in late 2009 after a thirty year career as an elementary school teacher. His diverse sports background, which included track, baseball, ultra-marathoning, martial arts, and coaching; combined with his classroom experience, created a perfect fit at an educational fitness foundation such as the Crim. He serves as program manager.
Tom has trained and studied mindfulness techniques with Thich Nhat Hanh, Mindful Schools, the Holistic Life Foundation, Mindful Education Institute, and the world renown Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program from UMass. He is a nationally certified yoga teacher (RYT) and is trained in multiple styles including working with children (ChildLight Yoga).
He was born in Cleveland, Ohio and is a graduate of the University of Michigan. He currently lives in Fenton with his wife Susan and two cats.
Josie Lemke – Coordinator
Josie Lemke: Josie came to the Crim in early 2015 as an AmeriCorps member through Up2Us Sports. She was trained in Sports-Based Youth Development, and spent her first year working to increase physical activity in the school day through morning and lunch programs. During this time she was able to successfully implement Yoga into the morning program at Durant-Turri-Mott, and a lunch program at Eisenhower Elementary. Upon completion of her AmeriCorps term, she officially joined the Mindfulness department. She completed a children’s yoga training through Cosmic Kids Yoga, and has furthered her own Mindfulness practice through CrimFit Mindfulness and Mindful Schools training.
Josie currently lives in Grand Blanc with her family including Red, the dog. She has a son and is expecting another child in January 2017. In her spare time she loves to hike, run, practice yoga, and travel with her family.
